How to read a certificate of analysis (CoA)
What is a CoA?
The certificate of analysis (CoA) is the document accompanying a batch that attests to its identity and purity.
At EVA, every batch has its own CoA.
Purity (HPLC)
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) measures the compound's purity, expressed as a percentage (EVA: > 99%).
The higher the purity, the fewer impurities the compound contains.
Identity (mass spectrometry)
Mass spectrometry confirms that the measured molecular mass matches the one expected for the compound.
It proves the synthesised compound is the one stated.
What to check
Batch number, analysis date, method used, and match with the ordered compound.
A clear, complete CoA is a sign of a serious supplier.
